About the Award
The Research and Innovation Excellence Award exists to increase both the quantity and the quality of clinical research within the Ministry, and to make research a visible route to professional standing rather than an unrewarded burden.

Published work competes for the three leading research prizes. Oral presentations and posters are screened, presented on Research Day, and judged on their own scoring sheets. A fourth award recognises the department that has done most to build research capacity over the cycle.
The Award is implemented across the Ministry of Defense Health Services, with the potential to expand in future cycles through strategic partnerships and broader national participation.
